With Polly-Anna out of the house Thomas decides it's time to make his move. When Aisha try's to get Thomas to answer her question about further commitment, he spins it to a question about his day. Frustrated she leaves for work unsure of what Thomas's intentions are for her. Thomas isn't taking his day very seriously, he putters around the garden harvesting plants, then grabs some cold leftovers from the fridge. Seriously why bother cooking with so much ready to eat food in there. Thomas was on his way to tidy up the papers, but spotting Aisha home from work, he decided to go for a jog instead. Spotting the library he decides to pop in and check it out. He spots a book on great chess masters in the reference section and decides to stay and read, trying to remember what time Aisha usually goes to sleep. As far as he's concerned they were just having fun, he's not into long term relationships. Maybe it was a bad idea to ask her to move in. Once he's done with the book he wanders around chatting up the other female patrons. They're all hotties in his book. He quickly learns that they're all married too. Except the last one but he bugs out when she announces she's pregnant. Aisha is a sleep when he gets home, and doesn't wake up. Thomas happily slides into his bed thinking he'll give the girl with braids that was a class below him a call in a day or two. She must almost be old enough by now. She was way more fun than Aisha, with her questions about marriage. Aisha is about to head off for work when she gets a call from the doctors office. She doesn't have the flu, she's pregnant. She wanders downstairs and finds Thomas in the back study. When she announces her news he congratulates her, then asks who the lucky dad is and when is she moving out with the baby. Aisha finally understands that Thomas really isn't 'all there'. Pissed she tells him he's the father and then asks him if he intends to marry her or not. The ensuing fight was not pretty, lots of harsh words and adult language on both sides. The end result, Aisha and Thomas are no longer a couple, and once the baby is born Aisha is out of there to restart her life, but not as a single parent. That can be Thomas's job! Aisha is emphatic. Noting the level of ire in Aisha's face and body language Thomas finally got a clue and acquiesced. Thomas also decided that the library would be a good place to hide while Aisha cooled down from her hormone driven murderous rage. Aisha hides in the house, outside of her doctor she really doesn't want the world to know she f'd up and had unprotected woohoo. Thomas, being male, naturally shows no signs of the consequences, and happily takes all calls for dates that come his way. Not all dates end well. He finally remembers that he wanted to call the cute girl with braids. He invites her out to the diner, he owns it so they can eat for free. When she shows up he's disappointed to see she's still not old enough for a proper date. After diner they talk for a bit, and he invites her over to the house confident that Aisha will already be asleep. They dance for a little and then she spontaneously hugs him. Thomas's thoughts of future dates go out the window when the girl mentions prom, boyfriend, and marriage. He may be insane, and he may not be into commitments, but he's still got half a shred of good in him; so he wishes her well and sends her home. Aisha has decided that Stevie's cookies are the most perfect pregnancy food ever! (No one has cooked since Stevie & Shanon moved out.) While things have mellowed between Thomas and Aisha, but Thomas has decided that it's in his best interest to avoid her. His dedication to avoiding her leads him to sign up to work at the police station even though he doesn't need the money are care for law enforcement. Afterwards he swings by the community garden for some produce to sell to the market. At the market he meets a gorgeous brunette by the name of Lyndsey. As they talk things take a heated and heavy flirtatious direction and it's almost morning by the time Thomas heads home. Thomas is snoring loudly in a deep sleep and doesn't hear when Aisha yells for him. Alone, pissed, and hurt Aisha gives birth after several hours of intense labor. Because Thomas had bolted every time she entered a room she never got his input on baby names, so she names the little girl Isabella. Aisha tucks Isabella into the crib, kisses her on her forehead whispering "see you for your birthday's kiddo". She then goes down to the kitchen to call for her cab. The front door shutting doesn't wake Thomas, but the unfamiliar baby cries do. Thomas is tired & hungry when he wakes up, hearing the car horn honk he calls the sitter service. He at least has grasped that he can't just leave a baby home alone. The sitter arrives and Tomas bolts for work. At work he doesn't even give the baby a second thought, that big mirror in the conference room though is another story. Heading out the door he hears a few mumbles about the mirror being missing. Thomas nonchalantly waves at the desk clerk and then jogs home. He just arrives home when his phone rings, relieved it's not work he note's that it's Lyndsey. He tells her he can't go out for a date because he's tired. He waves goodbye to the sitter as he talks to Lyndsey. He's just finished paying bills and sending the mirror back to the station by route of a restoration company when Lyndsey shows up. When she learns that he has to stay in because of his daughter she gushes that he is the sweetest thing. Thomas decides he doesn't care if she's got the wrong idea about why he's a single dad, not with the way she's kissing him and then asking him if would like to do more than kiss. She's overly flirty and a hopeless romantic, if her boyfriend isn't enough for her who is he (Thomas) to complain if she wants to tumble with him. Thomas is confident Isabella is fine, so when Lyndsey asks him if he wants to tumble a second time he enthusiastically shows her how much fun he thinks their tumbling is. It's very early morning when Thomas hears Isabella crying, grudgingly he leaves the soft embrace of his latest conquest. Thomas tends to his daughters needs before grabbing a snack from the fridge and then sliding back into bed with Lyndsey. Lyndsey wakes before Thomas and works out for a little bit before wandering downstairs in search of food. As Lyndsey is digging in the fridge she gets a sudden craving for cookies. Spotting a batch of cookies at the back she grabs them for her breakfast. A little later when she starts to feel unwell she mail orders a few test kits. Thomas unaware that Lyndsey is still around, hires the sitter again to come care for Isabella. Thomas is surprised to see Lyndsey when he comes home from work. Thinking that maybe she wants to tumble more he is thrown off when she announces that she's pregnant. Thomas is mad and tries to blame her for not taking precautions. He also makes it clear that she best not be planning on trying to get him snagged into any shotgun weddings, because he wasn't having any of that either. In the end after several minutes of shouting, name calling, and swearing, Lyndsey agrees to the same terms he had with Aisha. She can stay until the baby is born, he will raise the baby, and she will be invited to all of the baby's transition day parties. Thomas sees it as a win because he can get free babysitting from Lyndsey while she's there. While Lyndsey stays in the house and watches Isabella, Thomas agrees to meet up with his boss Winter. They talk for a bit and then head over to the diner. When Winter hints that she'd like to have woohoo with Thomas, he for once thinks of the possible consequences, and sites the work place rules regarding fraternization between the ranks as he declines. Winter tells him he won't get a second shot, despite how hard he feels himself becoming at the thought of tumbling his boss he manages to stick to his resolve, but only barely. Once back home he locks himself in the bathroom and runs the water. Then to give credence to his lie, when Lyndsey asks him why he's taking so long, he tosses some bubbles into the water and soaks for several hours. Lyndsey quickly learns that her body and pregnancy are not friends with each other. She is forever craving sweets, but no matter what she eats it all comes back up shortly after being eaten. Her doula is glad that Lyndsey was plush to start with as it gives a small amount of cushion for the weight being lost as the baby robs from Lyndsey's fat stores. Thomas is happy when it's time for Isabella to transition. He informs a very unhappy Lyndsey that he's having a party with his family and he doesn't care if she joins or not. Most of the guests don't comment about Aisha not living with Thomas or the fact that he's got a very preggo woman living in his house. Aisha is quick to asses the situation and warns Lyndsey that Thomas is not likely to an 11th hour proposal no matter how hot he thinks Lyndsey is. Once the women have their chat, Aisha turns her attention to her daughters birthday and insists on bringing her down to the cake. Stevie is sad to see that her first grandchild does not have the family read hair or lavender eyes. Lyndsey and Thomas end up having a mini fight in front of everyone over baby names. Stevie smiles and hands Lyndsey a list of possible names with a smile, before leaving with Shanon. As Aisha is saying goodbye to Isabella she tells Lyndsey that her timing was off, and now she was stuck naming the baby after one of Stevie's favorite chef's instead of being able to name the baby something she wanted. A miserable Lyndsey downs a pint of chocolate fudge swirl, wishing she had spaghetti to go with it. Thomas snuggles Isabella and then gets her started on her potty training, he then takes off for the library. Lyndsey notes that Isabella is content with her baby books so wanders off to read a book too. Noting that it's gotten late Lyndsey gives Isabella a bottle and then tucks her into bed. She then try's her hand at cooking mac & cheese. It burnt so bad that the smell caused Lyndsey to puke, in the end she just throws out the whole pot because of how badly it's burnt. She was about to grab something from the fridge when Thomas came home. Thomas apologizes for the earlier fight and tells Lyndsey to name the baby whatever she wants. For half a second Lyndsey thinks he's going to do more but he yawns and says good night. Shaking her head she reminds herself that Aisha had it right, Thomas had no intentions of marrying her. He'd raise the baby he fathered, but beyond that he wasn't owning up to anything. Before and after work Thomas tends to all of Isabella's needs and makes sure she has access to the baby books that she likes while he's at work. He even hires a cleaning company to come clean during the day. Lyndsey finds the isolation a bit much, but she still hasn't told her boyfriend why she hasn't been available for awhile. Being the hopeless romantic that she is she's hoping he will forgive her and take her back once she's had Thomas's baby. It's late at night when a very uncomfortable Lyndsey waddles to the bathroom mistaking the pressure in her nether regions as a need to use the toilet. Once her water breaks she realizes her mistake. After a long lonely and agonizing delivery she gives birth to a little girl whom she names Julia. Lyndsey tucks Julia into her crib and calls for a cab to come get her. Even though she'll be back for transition days, Lyndsey is more than happy to be leaving and going back to her family. Yes, Thomas is written as an ass on purpose. Yes I've met men like him in rl, unlike them though Thomas has learned his lesson. In game Aisha had one of the smoothest sim pregnancies I've ever seen, while poor Lyndsey had one of the worst I've ever seen in game, poor girl. I've got almost 500 more pics, they will await a different day. :) Thanks to game mechanics I had to use tce + cas to change Isabella & Julia's last names to Verde, so while in I sneaked a peak at their YA stage. The heir is decided, no - one will be getting their hair dyed ;) , and I trust readers can spot what the deciding factor was. ;)
