Slaine and Wulfrun had been escorted into a darkened office, lit only by a fire in the fireplace and a pair of small lamps on the large desk. Ayden Van Gould greeted them and waved at two of three old fashioned high back chairs in the room. The way the chairs were set up indicated that the twins were to sit together at a fair distance from Mr. Van Gould who'd wrinkled his nose ever so slightly as Wulfrun had entered the room. Once the twins had made themselves as comfortable as they could around such an ancient vampire Mr. Van Gould held up his hand for silence. Misses MacNeill's I thank you for your prompt arrival, before I go over the the terms of your inheritance there is a very important question you must answer as well as family history you must learn. Slaine and Wulfrun leaned in, curiosity gleaming in their eyes. Both holding back on the questions they'd grown up with in their hearts they nodded for him to continue. First the question. Do you think it right or proper for any being to be blood bound to a piece of land? The twins didn't hesitate or consult each other before answering in unison, "absolutely not, and if such is part of our inheritance we would free any such being at once." The history of blood bonds had been the only part of history they'd passed, and to them it was as barbaric as human slavery. Mr. Van Gould hadn't seem surprised by their response, and nodded as he muttered in a barely audible voice "done and released, very good start". He directly addressed the twins again. I'm sure that you are both aware of the rumors and stories surrounding Ailill park on Valley View drive. What you need to know is that the story is true and I'm staring at Slaine and Emer's last surviving descendants. Several generations back the park was gifted to the city by another descendant. As you may have already guessed because of who Slaine was, and the method he used to become a permanent member of Moonlit Falls he and everyone in his line is bound to the land at the cabin, park, and the estate in town. Slaine twitched, an estate in town and a fairy prince, if Wulfrun's tightening of her fingers was an indication they both wanted to ask the same questions. Just then there was a discrete knock on the door, and Mr. Van Gould bid the knocker to enter and take a seat. Slaine started, and Wulfrun nudged her with an elbow. The guitarist from the beach was just as cute as the twins had noted the day before, why was he joining them? Was he a relative? Mr. MacSithigh glad you could make it. As I thought would happen, the bond has already been released. I was just about to explain the parts that will affect you as well as the Misses MacNeill's. If Aodh MacSithigh was surprised to see the twins again he didn't let it show as he took the remaining seat in the office. As hinted at in the park's story the first Slaine was a prince from one of the four royal families who rejected the life of royalty in favor of true love. After Emer's mom had passed on he and Emer moved into town. They had named their estate Carrefour before construction had started. What they were unaware of was that the Crumplebottom family had bought both parcels of land across the way and blocked the road that was supposed to be built. Their new home was finished a month before Emer delivered two healthy twins. Slaine, Emer, and their children lived long healthy lives. Before his passing Slaine had contracted the Van Gould offices to oversee both the estate and the care of the caretaker that had willingly bonded himself to the estate. Their twins shared both the mansion and the cabin equally, and each raised a family. Eventually one side moved away from the valley and that line eventually ended about four generations ago. The side that stayed had another set of twins, those twins though were as opposite as opposite could be and could not get along. A deep rivalry formed between the two, and when it was their turn to inherit a bitter fight broke out. In the end they split apart the deeds, with one going to live at the cabin while the other retained Carrefour. All was good for another generation, but then the fighting started back up. By the time your mother was born there was only one heir left on the other side of the family. He was a nasty bitter old man who'd never married. He sought several things over his lifetime, an immortality spell, and a way to get the cabin back. He hired an alchemist who was cheap and got what he paid for. Death when the cast spell backfired killing not only your parents but him as well. That spell was supposed to have killed you girls as well, however he hadn't factored for the land bond which can only be broken by another fairy of royal blood. While the spell didn't kill either of you it did alter you, your skin tones, and what you are. Slaine interrupted Mr. Van Gould despite herself "You mean to say that Wulfrun and I were both human before the spell?!" Slaine's tone was sharper than she'd meant it to be and she bit her lip in consternation as a tear threatened to trickle down her cheek, Wulrun squeezed her across the shoulders and whispered "let him finish Slaine". Mr. Van Gould handed Slaine a box of tissues before continuing. Yes, your mom and father and everyone of your ancestor's except the original Slaine was a regular human. Yes, you were both born human. While the spell didn't kill you it did mingle with the traces of the original spell that Slaine used so very long ago to become human, which resulted in your transformations. The good news is that if you study alchemy hard enough ... Mr. Van Gould nodded a yes at Slaine as a light of understanding flashed across her face ... the spell can be reversed. Should you study even harder you can also become full fae should you wish. The path forward is yours to choose. Mr. Van Gould walked around his desk and pulled out a fat envelope accompanied by an even older skeleton key with a small piece of pink diamond in the handle. This is the deed to Carrefour. There are a few things you should know before you inspect the property in person. Mr. MacSithigh is the grandson of the last caretaker and as such, should you wish will become the new caretaker and live above the stables unless invited to live in the main house. His grandfather Sitheach was a technophobe and other than indoor plumbing managed to block most modernization attempts of the mansion. Lastly because the last heir never paid his taxes, all furniture that had been passed down had to be sold off so the main house is no longer furnished. The two of you will need to decide what you want to do whether it's move in or release the estate for sale. A few notes of caution if you choose to release the estate you won't inherit any money from it's sale. If you choose to move in the taxes are fairly steep as the land and house are valued at $176,624 thousand. Also if you move in the land stays fae bonded to your blood line. You have 24 hours to decide what you want to do, I expect to hear back from you by this time tomorrow night. Mr. MacSithigh a word ... Mr. Van Gould's voice was cut off as the door closed behind the twins and the weight of everything they'd just learned seemed to leaden their steps as they walked down the stairs and out to the waiting cab. Slaine commented "so that's why the alchemy bench and books" under her breath to Wulfrun before going very quite. Wulfrun was familiar with her twins taciturn moods and stayed quite for the remainder of the ride back to the cabin. Finne The inspiration behind Carrefour. Carrefour Dear cmbaker, the choice is yours to make should you choose to move any or all of the households into Carrefour you will need to use the freerealestate cheat for that first household, as the mansion is valued at $176,624 furnished in game. It was built at 1138 Merchant Way which is across from the Crumplebottom house. Moo was used to place five of the fireplaces. Because of how overly full my hard drive is (hangs head in shame) I was not able to play test the lot. This is essentially a shell house, very minimally furnished, there are a few item's such as the roof elements on the stables, that the game treats as decor furnishings and will vanish if you pick the unfurnished move in option. You will also loose the few furnishings including a fairy tree house, out of the stables and caretakers room. Exchange link: https://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=9432819
